Mandala Walls ("we", "us") is an iPhone app that lets you browse, preview, and purchase Tibetan mandala wallpapers. We respect your privacy and collect only the information needed to provide the service.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you do not need to provide
Mandala Walls does not require account registration, login, or your name, email address, or phone number to use the app.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Device identifier: A random UUID generated on first launch and stored in the iOS Keychain. It is sent to our servers as
deviceIdto associate In-App Purchases with your device and to support "Restore Purchases". - Language preference: Your device language (English, Simplified Chinese, or Traditional Chinese) to return localized wallpaper titles and descriptions.
- Push notification token (optional): If you allow notifications, we receive your Apple Push Notification (APNs) device token to notify you when new wallpapers are released. You can disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.
- Purchase records: When you buy a wallpaper, we receive the Apple transaction ID and product ID from your device so we can verify the purchase with Apple's servers and unlock the wallpaper for your device.
1.3 Information stored on your device
- Purchased wallpaper cache: Decrypted originals may be stored in an encrypted form in the app's cache directory for faster loading. This data stays on your device.
- Photos (with your permission): If you tap "Save to Photos", the app writes the image to your photo library using Apple's standard permission prompt. We do not upload your photo library.
2. How We Use Information
- Deliver wallpaper listings, previews, and purchased originals
- Verify and restore In-App Purchases
- Send optional push notifications about new wallpapers
- Maintain service security and prevent abuse
We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
3. Apple In-App Purchases
All payments are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your payment card or Apple ID credentials. We receive only transaction identifiers and product information needed to confirm your purchase. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
4. Data Storage and Security
- Communications with our servers use HTTPS (TLS).
- List and detail API requests and responses are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.
- Purchased originals are delivered via a one-time ECDH key exchange and encrypted download.
- Wallpaper files are stored on Alibaba Cloud OSS with private access; public URLs are time-limited signed links.
5. Third-Party Services
- Apple: App Store, In-App Purchase, APNs, and iOS system services
- Alibaba Cloud OSS: Secure storage of wallpaper image files
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
6. Data Retention
- Purchase records are retained to honor your ownership and restore purchases.
- Push tokens are updated when you reinstall or change devices.
- Cached images on your device can be cleared by deleting the app.
7. Children's Privacy
Mandala Walls is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may request access to or deletion of data we hold about your device identifier and purchases. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
